Campaigns

We're fired up and ready to take the climate fight to the next level.

We have a variety of ways for you to be involved with our community here at 350Marin:

Clean Energy

350Marin is proud to be a part of the Clean Energy movement happening around the country and in all local groups of 350 Bay Area. Our Governor says he likes and supports a clean, renewable, sustainable energy future. Then we need to make it happen with bold plans in the legislature, starting now.  We also want to protect the community choice aggregation efforts in the state that began with our own Marin Clean Energy (MCE). Divest~Invest

Divestment is the opposite of investment–it simply means getting rid of stocks, bonds or investment funds that are unethical or morally objectionable, particularly fossil fuel investments which are a risk for investors and for the planet.   We are calling on institutions to divest from the 200 publicly-traded companies that hold the vast majority of listed coal, oil and gas reserves.  For more information on the international divestment movement, please go to  www.gofossilfree.org (Read More)

Climate Solutions

The Climate Solutions Committee is looking at the big picture of climate collapse, nature, and human activities to try and determine the most effective and necessary actions to restore the atmospheric balance.

What are the top ten climate solutions that will reduce greenhouse gases? We plan to ask scientists, activists, academics, and journalists for their feedback. We hope their responses will stimulate inter-disciplinary dialogue and open the door to new ways to create a sane and sustainable future.

Outreach/Media

The Outreach Committee networks with numerous community groups and organizations throughout Marin to encourage their involvement with us and to look for ways to be mutually supportive. These include environmental organizations, groups involved in other aspects of climate change, schools, colleges, religious congregations, retirement facilities, and peace and social justice groups.

We liaison with the media and maintain an active presence through tabling and handouts at a variety of public events, including farmers markets, the Marin County Fair, outdoor performances, etc. We also provide an orientation session just before all steering committee meetings for new people who want to learn more about 350Marin. Going forward, we will be developing educational talks and other outreach activities.

    Hi:

I’m writing on behalf of California Film Institute Education and, more specifically, our Environmental Youth Forum. This takes place this year on February 3, 2015 at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael, CA and includes students from throughout the San Francisco Bay area of all ages.

We would very much like you to consider participating, probably by having a table through which you can interact with students. This takes place in-between film showings of environmentally related films.

I look forward to hearing from you and, hopefully, having the opportunity to speak with you further about your participation.

    Sincerely,

    Mark Phillips
